Distance learning offers a flexible way for students to follow courses, whether they are employees requiring new input or regular students who would like to supplement or substitute other course work. The course provides:

The course comprises intensive modules in Environment and Development accompanied by rigorous assignments that enable the development of analytical, research and writing skills among participants. The programme also aims to improve the quality of media writing and to develop among professionals as well as fresh graduates, the ability to communicate responsibly on Environment and Development issues.

Nature of Programme:

» Students will receive training in communication and will be trained to write articles, features, and report on environment and development related issues. » The course consists of three modules, which includes a module on communication and two subject modules. » These modules are on varied issues pertaining to bio-diversity, water resources and protected areas. » Students should prepare assignments in each of the modules that enable them to have a better subject knowledge and develop their writing skills. » At the end of the course, students will be able to analyse present information, have a deeper understanding of the subject and will be able to communicate well on environment and development issues.

Evaluation:

Students are adjudged based on regular assignments submitted to the Centre. The individual and detailed feedback helps them improve their writing skills. On completion of the programme, the student will receive a certificate from the Centre for Environment Education.
